The first mission trip I went on was 17 years ago! I find mission trips to be very rewarding for many reasons. They allow me to see the world through a different lens and remind me of how good I truly have it. Sometimes we get so caught up in our everyday lives, our routines, and the things we think we need that we forget to appreciate what we already have. One of the things I enjoy most about mission trips is being able to make other people happy. I love seeing the joy that something as simple as a smile, a conversation, a helping hand, or a small gift can bring to someone else. I like knowing that maybe I can make somebody’s day a little brighter or make someone feel special and cared for. My faith is also a big part of why I go on mission trips. I believe God calls us to love our neighbors and to serve others, and these trips give me an opportunity to put my faith into action.
